HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

whaphams

Whaphams stands next to the petrol station in that part of the High Street running past Golden Square. It has been a convent. The property was extended over the years, but the oldest part probably dates from around 1800. Pop singer Adam Faith lived there in the early 1970s.

HOUSES 24

Whaphams: A photograph of the house in 1936.

HOUSES 27

Whaphams: This photo of the ivy-covered house was also dated in 1936. Were these 'before' and 'after' photographs?

HOUSES 60

Whaphams: A view of the house from late May 2018. Extensive work had been done to the house before this photo was taken.

HOUSES 68

Whaphams: A view from mid-January 2019. Work looks to be completed, but the house has an empty look.
