the hundred

The medieval area of Henfield was known as a "hundred". The house called The Hundred - not be confused with Hundred Steddle - stands on the border of Henfield and Woodmancote on the main road to Brighton.

The cottages are Grade II listed, and the listing reads:

Early C19 terrace. Two storeys. Eight windows. Slate-hung, which is unusual in Sussex. Slate roof. Horizontally-sliding sash windows.
