henfield common north - houses
This page describes some of the houses on Henfield Common North - the road that runs east off the main Brighton Road - just past Golden Square - and winds round the north side of the common until it ends by the woods.
From Moustows Cottage going east to the end of North Common Road, the houses are named as follows:
Moustows Cottage, Malthouse Cottage, Newtimber, Lavender Cottage, Providence Cottage, Broadgate [path to the Daisy Croft] 1 North Common Road (Truleigh), 2 and 3 North Common Road, Crosswinds, 1 Stipenhoke, 2 & 3 Stipenhoke, 4 Stipenhoke, 5 North Common Road, Heather Cottage, Hill View, Trinity Cottage, Finches, Friars, Birtley and The Haven. A lane then runs out of the road to Dykes and Camelias.

HOUSES 3
Providence Cottage: Providence is next to Lavender Cottage and was, under its original name of Holmgarth, the home of Miss Allen and Miss Brown who owned the Violet Nurseries.
Truleigh: This is the first house in a terrace of four, and stands next to the twitten that runs down past Daisycroft from Furners Mead. Next to this terrace is the Stipenhoke.
Finches & Friars: These two white semi-detached houses are the penultimate houses on the road, followed by Birtley and The Haven.
HOUSES 11
Birtley & The Haven: These semi-detached houses are the last houses on the road before it ends by the woods.
Heather Cottage: This is the right-hand house of another pair of Edwardian semi-detached villas. The left-hand house being no. 5 North Common Road.
