HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

GULL COTTAGE

Gull Cottage was once a tea-room, but has been a private house for many years. Before the High Street drainage was improved in the 1980s, floodwater would occasionally sweep down Furners Lane and into the front of the cottage. The front gate used to be a solid board which, when fitted in place, helped to keep the water out.
