GREENFIELD HOUSE
Greenfield House - listed as "Old Tudor House" in the Horsham District conservation area documentation - looks very white and clean and neat from the front, but the gem of the building is in the north elevation with the striking brickwork. The roof appears to be of Horsham slabs. George Greenfield was a market gardener and farmer of 68 acres who lived here in 1881. In 1901 the house was occupied by George's widow, Sarah, and their son and daughter. The path down the side of the house runs from the southern High Street, between Greenfield House and the George car park - and then by a footpath - to the side of the village hall.
