COUNTRY VIEWS 1 - NOTES
Lane to Backsettown: This unmade road leads off Furners Lane to the ancient farmhouse of Backsettown. As the road curves left to the farmhouse, the lane continues as a twitten which leads to Henfield Common.
Blackgate Lane: This is a view of the footpath which leads from the Tanyard Pond, down the sides of Potwell to Nep Town Road. About halfway along, the actual road named Blackgate Lane runs parallel to the left of this track.
Field, Little Betley Farm: A footpath runs off the old Horsham-Shoreham railway line (closed in 1966 and now called the "Downs Link) which takes you through rippling fields of grass past Little Betley Farm, Cibses, Mockbridge House and on to the Bull at Shermanbury. A pleasant resting spot for ten minutes on a warm spring morning.
Cowfold Monastery from Parsonage: The Parsonage fields have seen a lot of new housing development since this photograph was taken about 2007. This pre-2007 view was from a track running east-west, with the spire and roof of Cowfold Monastery (Cistercian Order) on the skyline.
