The extract from the 1955 map of Henfield on the left shows Croft House (marked Bank) on the right-hand side of the modern Bishops Close. This was the original premises of Barclays Bank. The house on the left-hand side of the modern Bishops Close is "Holmwood", the house and surgery of Dr. Holt and Dr. Squire, respectively. Dr. Squire was the last user of the house as a surgery before the present Barclays Bank building was built on that site in 1967. There is a flat above the ground floor bank premises.
At the time of writing, both banks have gone from the High Street, as has NatWest further north on the west side. -> North
