HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

henfield walks

Start at (a) where a twitten runs from the the south corner of Moustows Manor and the High Street to Henfield Common North. Continue along Henfield Common North until you reach a footpath known as the Causeway at (b), which runs to the Brighton Road. Take this track and cross the main road to Mill Drive (d). To the left of Mill Drive, walk up the unmade lane, which runs along the back gardens of Mill drive, up to Mill House. The path continues round the right-hand side of Mill House, through a twitten and emerges at the western end of the Lydds (e). Follow the footpath along the length of the Lydds - enjoying superb views of the South Downs - to a point where it becomes a lane which runs downwards to Holedean Farm at (f). The lane does a sharp left turn at (f) and runs upwards to Lydds House at (g). At Lydds House, the lane turns right and runs down to the Brighton Road - cross the road and join the south path along the common at (h). Walk back to (c) and you've completed most of the walk.
