HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

village sign

This village sign, showing the coat-of-arms of Henfield, stands at the south end of the High Street, where the High Street joins Nep Town Road before becoming Barrow Hill.

MISCELLANY 2

Village sign: A photo of the sign taken in the 1990s.

MISCELLANY 17

Village sign 1: I was walking up from Barrow Hill past this signpost in late March 2017, and saw that it was lying on the ground with soil spilling out of the plant pot. I've no idea whether this was a recent occurrence, nor whether it was vandalised or had been knocked down or had simply fallen down because of weather. There were no visible marks on the grass. This photo is a close-up of the sign and the coat-of-arms within it.

Village sign 2: The whole sign, lying on the verge.

Village sign 3: A shot of the sign and part of the post on the ground.

MISCELLANY 18

Village sign: The sign in mid-May 2017 - restored to full health.
