HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

SCHOOL LANE

The lane - now just a continuation of School Lane, but formerly School Lane - runs west and south from the Tanyard and emerges in both Broomfield Road and the Hooks. Too narrow for traffic other than pedestrians, it took its name from the girls' school which was located in one of the houses (now Bramble Cottage) in the lane in the 19th century.

School Lane 2: This is a similar view to the School Lane 1 photo, but taken around 2005.
