OLD DAIRY COTTAGES
This set of cottages has seen many changes over the years. In the 1950s, the end cottage was a small village shop called Robins', and the name could still be seen in faint paint on the Furners Lane side of the building at one point. It was taken over by an export business and called Aviation House for many years. A few years ago, the business closed and the house was converted into the present Old Dairy Cottages. The name is misleading as there was never a dairy on the site of the cottages. There was a milk dispensing machine on the front of Robins, and the machine was topped up each morning by a dairy worker from Backsettown Farm.
