MILL DRIVE & MILL DRIVE back
The windmill that stood next to the common - on top of the Lydds - has long gone. The modern estate of Mill Drive runs parallel to the unmade road that leads up to the Mill House from the Brighton Road.
STREETS 4
Mill Drive: A photo of the Drive taken from a view point at its lower end, just up from the Brighton Road. The distinctive Giant Redwood tree in the centre of the picture no longer exists - it was split by lightning and then cut down some years ago.
STREETS 8
Mill Drive: A view of the road taken in 2015 - no cedar, but a large Wellingtonia at the very end.
STREETS 15
Mill Drive back: This view from autumn 2016 shows the backs of the gardens that flank the east side of Mill Drive, and the path running up from the Brighton Road to the Mill House.
STREETS 17
Mill Drive 1-3: Three views of the Drive, looking further down towards the main Brighton Road and the common. Taken in February 2017.
