Nep Town runs west from the bottom end of the High Street and then becomes Mill End before running downhill and becoming Dropping Holms. Dropping Holms, in turn, becomes Lower Station Road and, on the right just before Station Road proper, is the turn off to Lower Faircox.
Before the modern houses were built, up until well after the war, the area was Faircox Nursery - shown on the 1946/52 map on the left - run by George Banfield, who also kept a small shop in Church Street. A bomb dropped on Betley Bridge by a Junkers 88 during WW2 sent a hand-sized chunk of shrapnel into the nursery - about a mile from the bomb explosion - luckily no-one was hurt.
