HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

hollands lane

Lawyer's Lane takes a left turn off West End Lane, past a house called Leyspring, and then comes to a junction. A left turn here takes you on to the muddy, unmade eastern section of Hollands Lane, which leads back to the junction with Lower Station Road. A right turn takes you on to the western section of Hollands Lane, past Canon's farmhouse, before the road becomes a footpath which runs past Leeches and then joins up with the southern end of West End Lane.

Hollands Lane:
The photo shows the road just beyond Canon's, looking west.

COUNTRY VIEWS 16

Hollands Lane 1: This view of Lawyers Lane, taken in January 2017, shows it running east towards Lower Station Road from the junction with West End Lane. The logs are in the lane on purpose to stop motorised traffic, the hedges have been pollarded to allow light in - with the end purpose of persuading the local council not to cover the track with chippings.

Hollands Lane 2: This looks remarkably like the footpath in Hollands Lane 1 above - and it was also taken in January 2017 - but, in fact, this is a separate footpath, running alongside the roadway from Canons to the junction with Lawyers Lane.
