HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

greenways, knowles close, broomfield gardens & the hooks

Several cul-de-sacs run off Broomfield Road.

STREETS 8

Greenways: Greenways is the first on the right as you walk up Broomfield Road from the junction with Church Street. This modern photo from 2015 shows the houses and the road running round to the end of the cul-de-sac.

Knowles Close: This is the first on the left as you walk up Broomfield Road from the Church Street junction. A modern photo from 2015 looking down the close from Broomfield - with St. Peter's church in the background. The road splits to the left and right, and then ends.

Broomfield Gardens: The second turning on the left - past Knowles Close.

The Hooks: The name "The Hooks" is the old field name and the ground was originally part of the Red Oaks estate. You can see the entrance to Red Oaks Nursing Home on the left in the picture.

STREETS 18

The Hooks: This shows a view from the opposite direction to the previous photo - i.e. looking down from the end of the road towards Broomfield Road. Taken in early July 2017.
