HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

frogshole

West End Lane takes a sharp left and swings south to old farmhouses such as Catsfold Farm, Frogshole, Leeches, New Inn and Harwoods. Frogshole east of the road, past Catsfold and the turning for Leeches. In 1851, Stephen Woolgar, a 53-year old agricultural labourer, lived at Frogs Hole with his wife Sarah and their seven children. Sarah Woolgar was widowed by 1871, and lived there with her son Abraham (b.1840) and his wife and 5 children.
