HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

dykes

Dykes stands to the north of Henfield Common, reached by a private road that runs from the eastern end of Henfield Common North. Artists Malcolm and Hilda Milne - painters of flowers and portraits - came to live there in the 1920s and set up their studio in a cottage at the southern end of the garden, next to the Henfield woods footpath. The studio is there to this day, but is now a ruin.
