HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

dropping holms

Nep Town runs west from the bottom end of the High Street and then becomes Mill End before running downhill and becoming Dropping Holms. The name is assumed to mean dripping oaks - dropping being dripping and holms being oaks. At the bottom of Dropping Holms, the road becomes the very rural east section of Hollands Lane.
