COUNTRY VIEWS 3 - NOTES
View from Blundens: Blundens farmhouse stands at the end of Stonepit Lane. This photo shows one of the views from the lane next to the house. You can see the high banks of the river Adur in the middle distance.
Tree near Shiprods: The footpath which runs from Chestham Park past Shiprods also runs past this long-dead tree.
Adur to Lashmars: When you get to Lashmars Hall, the ancient hall-house which stands at the end of Stonepit Lane, a right-turn takes you down this trackway which leads to the river Adur. The view in this photo is looking back from the river to Stonepit.
Lydds view: Another view of the fields and Chanctonbury Ring from the Lydds.
Sandy Lane: This photo is a view of Sandy Lane running up from the brooks to Nep Town Road.
Oak tree, Chestham Park: A walk on the footpath which skirts Chestham Park takes you past this ancient oak - bare of leaves on a mild winter's day.
Mill House view: An unmade road runs parallel with the modern Mill Drive from the Brighton Road up to the Mill House at the top of the Lydds. (The windmill stood in what is now the mill house garden). Walk up the track to Mill House and then turn to look back - this is the view that you see.
Horton Golf Course: This 9-hole golf course is tucked away between the Lydds and Oreham Common.
