Culvert, Henfield woods: The north side of Henfield woods slopes up to either farmland or land belonging to houses such as Dykes. Consequently, during rainy spells, water runs down the fields into the woods, across the path which skirts the woods from Henfield Common North, and into the usually boggy woodland itself. Henfield here is on clay and sand, which doesn't drain like chalk. This photo from late January 2018 shows a culvert under the path, allowing the water to flow without making the track muddy.
Logs, Henfield woods, 1-3: Quite a bit of tree cutting has taken place here. From picture no. 2, it looks as though the tree fell through high winds and was cut up in situ. These photos were taken halfway along the path running through Henfield woods from Henfield Common North to Swains Farm - late January 2018.
Old bridge at Streatham: This old bridge crosses one of the many streams that feeds the river Adur, and is reached from a footpath that runs from the Downs Link to the river, just past Streatham Manor.
