HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

 COUNTRY VIEWS 2 - NOTES

Bluebells, Woodmancote: A muddy track leads down from the house called Holders, which lies three-quarters of the way down Furners Lane, towards Henfield Common and Swains Farm. The track passes through some woodland which, in spring, is a riot of bluebells.

Rainbow from Benson Road: It had been a hot, humid day with a huge thunderstorm about 7pm. This double rainbow was the result - too good not to photograph! The Meadow Walk development was subsequently built on this field, and this view has gone for ever.

Rothery Field view: The Rothery Field lies south of Nep Town Road and is one of two playing fields in the village - the other being the King's Field. These are in addition to the football and cricket pitches on the common. A peek over the southern edge of the field gives you the view in this photo.

Sunset: A Henfield sunset, taken in Benson Road and looking over the fields bordering Furners Lane. Now obliterated by the Meadow Walk development.
