HENFIELD THEN AND NOW

henfield co-operative society

The Henfield Co-operative Society branch - now long gone - occupied a house in Station Road. The branch is now a private house, but the words "Henfield Branch Co-operative Society" can still be seen, painted in fading white letters on the brickwork on the northern side of the house.

HOUSES 50

Former Co-op 1: A photo from late March 2017. Interestingly, the more modern house to the left of the former Co-op building is called "The Old Co-op". Perhaps the original store was in two halves, with a now demolished - and single-story - building where the modern house now stands.

Former Co-op 2: A close-up of the house from late March 2017.
